Description:

For several years, Nepco has been offering various beef programs and we recently decide to join forces with Montpak International, as a processing partner for Boeuf du Québec, and are happy to now be able to offer you a high quality beef product from farms operated by local families. All cuts come exclusively from Quebec farms, operated by farmers with whom we share common values.

To name a few:

• Ferme D’Anjou et fils (Saint-Agapit)

• Ferme Desrosier et Frères (Mirabel)

• Ferme Miclem (Saint-Anicet)

• Ferme Claessen et Fils (Saint-Liboire)

• Ferme Normand Vinet et Filles (Saint-Basile)

Our beef suppliers joined the sustainable beef production program (VBP+). This allows producers of certified cattle to demonstrate to consumers that their operation meets the highest standards in terms of food safety, animal welfare and respect for the environment.

Our steers come mainly from a cross of Angus, Charolais, Simmental and Limousin breeds. Each breeder provides feed based on a recipe pre-established by agronomists. The main resource is dry corn to which corn silage and hay are added, which ensures a well-marbled, tender and tasty meat and ensures the good development of the animal. Boeuf du Québec is graded AA+ (AA, AAA and Prime) and is under the responsibility of the Canadian Beef Grading Agency, an organization accredited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Nutritional facts

Beef contains between 17% and 23% protein, is an excellent source of iron with an absorption rate of 20 to 25% and contains less than 6% fat, regardless of their cooking method (grilled, boiled, roasted, braised). It also provides other minerals (zinc and selenium) and vitamins (B3, B6 and B12). So many nutrients that help maintain our physical shape and muscle tone on a daily basis. However, some studies recommend eating red meat in a moderate way.
